HELP // BASS//LINE

Quick start

  1. Load a PRESET (or program your own), then hit PLAY.
  2. The 16 vertical faders edit one parameter at a time — pick which with the SELECTOR: Note, Gate, Accent, Slide, Probability or Ratchet.
  3. Turn the global knobs to shape the sound live, and dial in the FX rack.

Controls

  • Faders + selector — per-step values for the selected parameter. Note has a well-tempered ↔ free toggle plus scale/key lock.
  • Global knobs — Cutoff, Resonance, Env Mod, Decay, Accent, Tune, Sub, Waveform, plus the delay/reverb sends.
  • FX rack — INSERTS run in series (auto-wah → distortion → bit-crush → mod); SENDS are the parallel delay & reverb. Each has an ON toggle and a dry/wet MIX.
  • Transport — Play/Stop, Tempo, Tap, Swing, Metronome, pattern length and direction mode.
  • Banks A–D — four patterns; chain them to play in sequence. Copy/paste, nudge, and undo/redo cover your edits.
  • Export — Save/Load JSON, Export MIDI, Export WAV.

Tips

  • Combine Accent + Slide on adjacent steps for the classic 303 squelch.
  • Sweep Resonance up while riding Cutoff for the acid quack.
  • Set a step's Ratchet to 3–4 for fast rolls; use Probability for generative variation.
  • Humanize loosens timing; Mutate nudges a pattern without starting over.

Install the app

BASS//LINE installs as a standalone app that launches in its own window.

  • Desktop (Chrome / Edge) — click the install icon in the address bar, or the browser menu → “Install BASS//LINE…”.
  • iPhone / iPad (Safari) — tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”.
  • Android (Chrome) — menu (⋮) → “Install app” / “Add to Home Screen”.

Full offline support is still being finished — an internet connection is currently recommended on first launch.
